Line Up Sauzipf Rocks 9
We proudly present you this year's Sauzipf Rocks line up!

Below the band descriptons you can find links to the official bandsites and the particular myspace sites.
Torture Squad (Trash/Death Metal, BR)
torture_squad.jpg
Real friends of metal music have already known there is more to Brazil than tight bikinis and sun-drenched beaches. Torture Squad have been a flagship of death/thrash for years and deliver everything which represents this style: neck-breaking riffs, gory vocals and heavy drums such as catchy parts here and there. They wrapped up the "Metal Battle" in Wacken 2007, among 15 other international acts. Now being on extended tour over Europe, they most certain will be a highlight for our death/thrash admirers!

The Unseen (Hardcore-Punk, USA)

the_unseen.jpg„Boom – Zack, iiiiiin de Gouschn!“ ("Bam - Wack, iiiiiiin your gob!") - this is their attitude. And that's exactly what they need for 193 live gigs only in the year 2004!! The luscious shouts of and the flawless harcore punk performance of the rest of the combo show once more: „Punk’s not dead“. Founded in Boston in 1993 gegründet, The Unseen have played not just in North America and Mexico, but also in Europe, Japan and Australia together with greatnesses like Rancid, Hatebreed und Sick Of It All. Better not let this band pass unseen!

The Bottrops (Punkrock, D)

bottrops.jpgGerman-speaking punkrock like it "pulls down all fences and binds together all dispersed tribes of the underdogs" (transl. lyrics)! What the...!? Well, from the beginning: Once upon a time there was a group, terrorising coarsingly and sarcastically along the way, just like that. Like the Phoenix out of the ashes, The Bottrops rose from the ruins of the Terrorgruppe and in 2006 decided to focus on the allotment-can deposit-grousers. Catchy melodies, definitely with some pogo capability, as well as chorus lines invited to bawl along. Bam, Dude!

Karras (Hardcore/Metal, D)

karras2.jpgWith Karras it is easy to accomplish the so-called proportion of women, for there stand three metal girls with their instruments, pretty as a picture, next to the shouter. A true prankster who thinks about this a a PR stunt. In finest manner hardcore and death metal is blended to a construction of styles. At first sight nothing new, but the band produces a very tight and atmospheric sound, shooting out of the masses from the beginning. All in all a band exceptionally not only something for your ears!

Folkstone (Folkmetal, I)

folkstone.jpgThe band's name is programm here - Folkstone play moody folk metal, overflowing with positive energy. Medieval harmonies and metal riffs accompany the clear and superordinate vocals. The 8-person collective from Bergamo makes use of all genre-typical instruments like bagpipes, bombarde and harp, putting together the metal masterly. They referr to their showa as a mixture of "extreme medieval metal music", fire play and beer. So up with your mugs!

Bud Spencer (Rock'n'Roll, HR)

bud_spencer.jpgIt's not a big secret that quite a frew Sauzipf Rocks crew members are die-hard Bud Spencer (actor; editor's note) -Fans, but now it becomes official. And it might not be pure coincidence that this wonderfully snottily runk'n'roll chose the same name. Anyway, a portion of „pig rock" is served here in Croatian or English and topics from heavy drinking to sexual perversions are treated skillfully. Sauzipf-heart, what else in the world could you want?

Zippo (Stonerrock, I)

zippo.jpgThe label „stoner rock“ has regrettably been dragged through the mire quite too much during the last years., raped and sold out. But for all that, thanks to bands like Zippo you can proudly use it again. Unruly sound bursting with strength overflows every idividual who opens his or her ears and, above all, the heart for this music. A band undergoing stonerrock in all its facets and colouring, from voluminious riff walls to apathetically dreamy parts inviting to a journy into the rock universe.

Doomraiser (Doom Rock/Metal, I)

doomraiser.jpgDoomraiser don't want to reinvent the genre, it is their intention to pass the torch of traditional doom metal in a dignified manner; and they have it down pat. Heavy , pasty doom pregnatn with alcohol is their deal. Risen from the catacombs of Rome, they have already produced the ultimate soundtrack für all "hell's disciples". It would break the mould by far to recite all the doom metal festivals they honoured with their presence all over the years, all over Europe.
„Hell Yeah!“

BulBul (Noise-Rock, A)

bulbul.jpgDo you speak "chicken"? *Ba-gock*! Alright, we get each other. If you have already reached this intellectual level, you will be more than fit for the BulBul universe. To try to describe their music in words is approximately as rewarding as drawing the taste of a risotto à lemongrass. Already for 10 years Mr. DDKERN, DERHUNT and RAUMSCHIFF ENGELMAYR have been supporting us with a bountiful cure of living cells to the domestic noise rock scene. We are VERY glad to finally present you this tenderloin on the Sauzipf Rocks stage - it's about time!!

Fuzz Manta (Hardrock, DK)

fuzz_manta.jpgLene knows the planks of the Sauzipf Rocks stage pretty well, since she has already been here with "The Davolinas" and "Cherry Overdrive". And, amongst others, just of members of those two bands consists one of the newest projects of the Kopenhagen rock and garage scene, Fuzz Manta. Just like the other projects of the charismatic front woman, also Fuzz Manta just magically throw together a very consistent cocktail of rock, blues and some pinches of stoner and fuzz rock. Expectedly, once again an exceedingly fine thing.

Misbegotten (Metal/Hardcore, A)

misbegotten.jpgThis „Mozart ball“ will get stuck in many a throat and it's good this way, you can listen to classical music in the old folks's home. An offer of hardcore metal as it should be - riff attacks, double bass effusions, heart-breaking shouts and, of course, stomp hardcore enclosures. The combo from Salzburg, founded already in 1993 has lived through a very up-and-down band history; and who knows the bands they have supported (a.o. Obituary, Pro Pain & Hatesphere), also knows that pros are operating here. Misbegotten are ready for Sauzipf Rocks; are you ready for this load of metal?

Zone Six (Psychedelic, D)

zone_six.jpgYou have heard of Area 51, but not yet of Zone Six? So you too werde successfully deceived! This, you see, is the true place where extraterrestial entities gave the aeon-old receipt for ultimate space rock to the human race, more specific, to a bunch of people in Berlin. Founded in 1997, they have been responsible for many experiences which clouded the consciousness and distorted the perception of their human associates. If they also melt our PA with their music or just your mind, will be shown; we are eager.

Stereochrist (Southern Rock, HUN)

stereochrist.jpgProbably not accidentally, they cover Down's "Bury Me In Smoke on their newest longplyer "Live Like A Man (Die As A God)". On one hand they do something like the European version of NOLA / Southern rock sound, and on the other hand David Mako’s voice has this marvelous smoke-and-whiskey-sound, oh well, he could pass for a Southern States American. Despite all these, though adulatingly meant comparisons, Stereochrist don't need to hide behind them, because they do have enough potential to stand on their own two musical feet! Let’s Ride Blind!

Alix (Psychedelic Rock, I)
alix.jpgA further Italian modification of the stoner topic is given to us by the band Alix. This is where the musical emphasis is set on groovy sound carpets woven with richly fuzzy guitars. This band stands out especially because of their singer who is often - and surly not wrongfully - compared to PJ Harvey; anyhow, she is standing above the sound happening at any moment and with her voice gives a special touch to it.

Veritas Mentis (Black/Death Metal, A)

veritasmentis.jpgNow we're coming to the "home-made". Founded in beautiful Döbriach in the year 1998, Veritas Mentis - though in the meanwhile reinforced by several veterans - keep Döbriach as their home. Changes in lineup they had many, for lack of a living individual they even had a pile of circuits taking a seat behind the drums. A spicy and cruel death and black metal-mix is volunteered by the five lads. Their 2002 longplayer „As God Rejects“ consistently got good criticsisms from the music press. \m/

Thytopia (Metal/Trash, A)

thytopia.jpgNuclear Guns (SZR 4) resp. Katharsis (SZR 6) are back to this year's Sauzipf Rocks as Thytopia. Although changin their name a lot (the last time because of to much name rivalry on the music market), they remain true to themselves musically. Their music avoids compulsions, they fish wildly in the boxes labelled „Rock“ and „Metal“ and get everything out what pleases them to prepare their own style blend out of the most various influences. Just this minute they are delivering their debut album, so we can indeed be looking forward to new material.

Typhoon (Metal, A)

typhoon2.jpgWell, it is not all that easy to write some lines on Typhoon. Neither information or really music to find in the net, nor something like a sound carrier to acquire. So we have to rely on a few infos of band member Dani (bass player of Stonedhedge), as follows: on one side the band consists of "only educated people" (aha, good to know) and on the other side they've played music together for - believe it or not - 15 years. We are, with good reason, VERY excited!

Patiocrash (Punk, A)
patiocrash.jpgFrom the beginning as „Shüwa“ in the early 90s to the solo run of the brothers Vogel since the year 2003 - a very chequered past they have once and for all. Well-known for their chaotic live gigs, which are occasionally broken off by the police and which had somewhat of a "jackass"-motto, Patiocrash produce terrifically energetic and raw punk, inspired by Seattle sound. GIXI and MUCH almost certainly won't spare our stage at all, and it's good this way!
